My name is Shyla Pheasant, and I am an entrepreneur in spirit, current student, and cowgirl at heart; who’s purpose is to strengthen the western industry through modern business strategies. I was Miss Teen Rodeo Nevada in 2006, Nevada High School Rodeo Queen in 2007, the Entrepreneurship Club President at UNR from 2009-2010, and I am currently the President of the honors accounting society at UNR, Beta Alpha Psi. As a rodeo queen I have traveled over 15,000 miles, meeting people, and experiencing different subcultures from all walks of life. In those travels I have learned, that in today’s world, it is essential to not only know where you have came from, your western roots, but where you are going, and how you are going to accomplish those goals. Through my past and current experiences with horses and rodeo, and my future adventures in the business world, I want to help others learn and reflect on who they are and what they stand for.
